Contraindications and precautions
FULLDERMA® should be administered with caution in subjects with poor circulation at the skin level due to the risk of skin ulceration. Due to the wound-inhibiting effect of corticosteroids, betamethasone should not be used in areas where there are extensive skin abrasions. Long-term administration of corticosteroids can cause atrophy of the bone matrix accompanied by delayed wound healing, loss of muscle mass, and muscle pain or weakness, all effects of protein catabolism.
Adverse reactions
Some dermatologic adverse effects of systemic corticosteroids include: skin atrophy, acne vulgaris, diaphoresis, delayed wound healing, facial erythema, striae, petechiae, hirsutism, and ecchymosis. Hypersensitivity reactions include: allergic dermatitis, urticaria and/or angioedema. Hypersensitization may occur in predisposed patients due to prolonged use. If hypersensitivity or irritation occurs during treatment, consult your doctor.
