Ketorolac Tromethamine.
Presentation
SL tablets of 30 mg.
Box x 4 Tablets.
Indications
Acute Pain of Moderate to Severe Intensity such as:
- Post-traumatic pain.
- Post-surgical pain.
- Postpartum pain.
- Musculoskeletal pain.
- Pain from extraction or dental surgery.
- Renal or nephritic colic.
- Dysmenorrhea.
- Lumbosciatica.
Posology
SL Tablets:
Loading dose: 30 mg over 6 to 8 hours
Maximum dose: 120 mg the first day / 90 mg the following days
Maximum administration time: 5 days.
Contraindications
- Demonstrated hypersensitivity to ketorolac.
- Allergy to aspirin or other NSAIDs (due to cross reaction).
- Patients with evolving peptic ulcer disease.
- Severe liver and/or kidney failure.
- Pregnancy and lactation.
- Blood dyscrasias, dengue type.
Adverse Effects
- Skin:
itching and urticaria: < of 1%. - Digestive system:
nausea, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal pain (3–9%), diarrhea (1–3%), constipation, flatulence, fullness, dry mouth, thirst, gastritis, and peptic ulcer (1% or less).</li > - Central nervous system:
drowsiness (3 – 9%), dizziness, headache (1 – 3%), nervousness, insomnia, difficulty concentrating (1% or less). - Urogenital:
frequency and oliguria. - Cardiovascular:
edema (1–3%), vasodilation, and palpitations (1% or less). - General:
sweating (1–3%), injection site pain (2%), shortness of breath (dyspnea) (1% or less).
