Contraindications
- FULLDERMA® should be administered with caution in subjects with poor circulation at skin level due to the risk of skin ulcerations. Due to the healing inhibitory effect of corticosteroids, betamethasone should not be used in areas where there are extensive skin abrasions. Prolonged administration of corticosteroids may result in atrophy of the bone matrix accompanied by delayed wound healing, loss of muscle mass and muscle pain or weakness, all of which are effects of protein catabolism.
Adverse reactions
- Some dermatological adverse effects of systemic corticosteroids include: skin atrophy, acne vulgaris, diaphoresis, delayed wound healing, facial erythema, striae, petechiae, hirsutism and ecchymosis. Hypersensitivity reactions include: allergic dermatitis, urticaria and/or angioedema. Hypersensitization may occur in predisposed patients due to prolonged use. If hypersensitivity or irritation occurs during treatment, consult your physician.
